Charges Issued in Wellston Homicide

On Monday, March 10, 2014, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges on Marquis McKinney, 19 years of age, of the 5600 block of Park Lane in St. Louis, Missouri 63136, for one count of Murder in the First Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Central County Precinct to Host Citizens Police Academy

The St. Louis County Police Department Central County Precinct will host a Citizen Police Academy at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, 1266 Sutter Avenue, Wellston, MO 63133. The sessions are held every Wednesday night consecutively for eight weeks, three of which will be at a different location. The academy will begin on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, with graduation on May 7, 2014.

The St. Louis County Police Department South County Precinct will host a Citizens Police Academy at Mehlville High School, located at 3200 Lemay Ferry, St. Louis, MO 63125. The sessions are held every Tuesday night consecutively for five weeks, plus one Saturday class which will be held at the St. Louis County firearms range. St. Louis County Police Report Crime Reduction for Fifth Straight Year, Lowest Total Since 1969

Serious crime in the areas under protection of the St. Louis County Police Department has decreased in 2013 from that of 2012. Index crime statistics comparing 2012 to 2013 in unincorporated St. Louis County and the municipalities served by County officers show an overall reduction of 7.4 percent. The 2013 report represents an overall crime reduction for the fifth straight year, and the lowest total crime since 1969. Read More...
