Chief Tim Fitch Announces Promotions

On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch announced the promotions of Major Terry Roberds and Captains Kenneth Gregory and Kenneth Cox to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Director Bill Howe to the position of Executive Director, and Lieutenants Mary Barton and Jeff Bader to the rank of Captain.

Lieutenant Colonel Terry Roberds is a 32 year police veteran. He has served as the Commanding Officer of the Division of Patrol, Captain of the South County and City of Fenton Precincts, as a Lieutenant in the South and North County Precincts, as a Sergeant in Tactical Operations, North and South County Precincts, and as a Detective in the Division of Criminal Investigation, a Tactical Operations Officer, and as a Patrolman in the South County Precinct. Lieutenant Colonel Roberds received his Associates Degree in Administration of Justice from St. Louis Community College. Lieutenant Colonel Roberds has received 94 awards, commendations, and letters of appreciation.

Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Gregory is a 29 year police veteran. He has served as the Captain at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, as a Lieutenant in the North and West County Precincts, as a Sergeant in the Tactical Operations Unit and the North County Precinct, and as a Municipal Services Officer and a Patrolman in the North and West County Precincts. Lieutenant Colonel Gregory received his Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Lieutenant Colonel Gregory has received 45 awards, commendations, and letters of appreciation.

Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Cox is a 22 year police veteran. He has served as the Captain of the Central and South County Precincts and Municipal Services, as a Lieutenant in the Affton Southwest Precinct, as a Sergeant in the Divisions of Criminal Investigation and Operational Support, and as a Tactical Officer, Drug Enforcement Detective and Patrolman in the Affton Southwest Precinct. Lieutenant Colonel Cox has his Bachelors Degree in Criminology from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Lieutenant Colonel Cox has received 57 awards, commendations, and letters of appreciation.

Executive Director Bill Howe has been with the St. Louis County Police Department for 28 years. He has served in the Division of Operational Support as the Director of the Bureau of Staff Services and Planning and Analysis Unit, and as Financial Manager in the Financial Management Unit. Executive Director Howe received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Southern Illinois University. Executive Director Howe has received 10 awards, commendations, and letters of appreciation.

Captain Mary Barton is a 30 year police veteran. She has served as a Lieutenant in the Central and West County Precincts, as a Sergeant in the Bureau of Communications and the West and Affton Southwest County Precincts, and as a Special Operations Officer, Drug Enforcement Detective, and a Patrolman in the North County Precinct. Captain Barton received her Masters Degree in Human Resources from Webster University. Captain Barton has received 34 awards, commendations, and letters of appreciation.

Captain Jeff Bader is a 25 year police veteran. He has served as a Lieutenant in the Bureau of Drug Enforcement and Tactical Operations, and the City of Fenton, Affton Southwest, and South County Precincts, as a Sergeant at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy and the South County Precinct, and as a Tactical Operations Officer and a Patrolman in the South County Precinct. Captain Bader received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University. Captain Bader has received 89 awards, commendations, and letters of appreciation.
