Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is an advisory body to the County Council. The Planning Commission reviews matters relating to zoning and development in unincorporated County and normally meets on Monday evenings in the County Council Chambers on the first floor of the Administration Building in Clayton. The Planning Commission consists of nine members holding no other County office, appointed by the County Executive subject to confirmation by the County Council. Six of the members shall be residents of that part of the County outside incorporated cities and three shall be residents of municipalities in the County. Public Hearings
On the second and third Monday of each month, the Planning Commission holds a public hearing at 7:00 P.M. Check Current Public Hearing Notice for meeting times and agendas. Commission Actions
On the first Monday of the month, the Planning Commission holds an Executive Meeting at 6:00 P.M. Commission decisions are made at the executive meetings. Recommendations are prepared by professional staff at the Commission's direction. These letters of recommendation are sent to the County Council. The County Council makes the final decision on zoning and development matters. View the current Planning Commission Executive Meeting Agenda. This is updated after the meeting to include the voting record of the Commission. The Executive Sessions contain links to letters of recommendation approved by the Commission and forwarded to the County Council.
