Metro Area May 2010 Employment Data
St. Louis Metro Area payroll jobs (not seasonally adjusted) were reported as declining at a -0.6% rate with 8,000 jobs lost between May 2009 and May 2010 resulting in a total of 1,304,300 jobs. However, seasonally adjusted payroll data showed a gain of 800 metro area jobs between April 2010 and May 2010. 2008 County Income Data
St. Louis County Per Capita Personal Income increased by 3.4% to $54,343 in 2008, highest in Missouri, and was 149 percent of the state average, $36,356, and 135 percent of the national average, $40,166. The 2007-2008 change of 3.4% was higher than the national change of 2.0 percent and slightly lower than the state of Missouri change of 3.5 percent. The data was released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

County Employment and Wage Data for 3rd Quarter, 2009
St. Louis County had 568,800 wage and salary workers covered by unemployment insurance in September 2009, down 5.7% from September 2008. compared to a -5.3% decrease nationwide. Average wages increased by 0.2% compared to a nationwide decline of -0.1%.
