Task Force Final Report (73MB)
| Final Report Executive Summary (.1MB)
St. Louis County Government is committed to ensuring that the Missouri Department of Transportation's planned improvements to I-64 are completed within budget and on time.
This project is destined to have a dramatic impact not only on current customers, but on our children and grandchildren - and also the St. Louis region's immediate and long-term economic vitality.
Consequently, St. Louis County will spare no effort to make sure the final project maximizes construction progress and long-term benefits to the St. Louis County Community while minimizing motorist inconvenience during road construction.
The I-64 Regional Traffic Management Plan Task Force will coordinate and steer the effort. It consists of 11 members, one from each of the St. Louis County Council's seven districts, three at-large members and a chairman. (For more information about the composition and purpose of the Task Force, please click the "Frequently Asked Questions" icon

On May 26 2006 the Task Force presented its final report to County Executive Charlie A. Dooley, who then met with the Missouri Department of Transportation.
This fact-based, comprehensive analysis explores and discusses all reasonable options available to handle diverted traffic necessitated by the project. In turn, this document recommends traffic handling policies and goals to MoDOT that represent the best overall value to all citizens of St. Louis County.
MoDOT's I-64 improvement project will be a reality. St. Louis County Government is committed to the success of this third attempt by MoDOT to fix I-64. St. Louis County Government had two choices: Withdraw to the sidelines with its hands in its collective pockets or become an active participant and thereby directly influence an improvement plan of optimal benefit to the residents of St. Louis County.
We choose to participate.
No other piece of infrastructure in the region is as important to St. Louis County than this 11-mile stretch of I-64/40.
