For Immediate Release

On Thursday, May 29, 2014, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a
warrant against Seth Schell, 20 years of age, of the 9000 block of Traverse Lane, St. Louis,
Missouri, 63134, for one count of Statutory Rape First Degree and two counts of Statutory
Sodomy First Degree. Schell is being held on a $100,000 bond and a photo of Schell is

Schell was arrested after St. Louis County detectives received information from a School
Resource Officer indicating that the victim in this case may have been sexually assaulted.
During the investigation, it was determined that Schell used social media to initially contact
the victim and then meet the victim when the assault occurred.

Although Schell is in custody, the investigation continues to determine if he victimized other
individuals in the metropolitan area. Investigators are particularly concerned because of
Schell’s use of social media as a means to communicate with the victim. If anyone has any
information concerning Schell as it pertains to this case, please contact the St. Louis County
Police Department at 314-889-2341.
