For Immediate Release

On Wednesday, May 28, 2014, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges on William White, 42 years of age, of the 5300 block of Helen Avenue, Jennings, MO 63136, for two counts of Assault in the First Degree, and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. White is being held on a $300,000 cash only bond. A photo of White is attached.

Charges were issued after officers from the St. Louis County Police Department’s City of Jennings Detail responded to a shooting in the 5300 block of Helen Avenue on April 20, 2014. When officers arrived on scene, two male victims advised officers that they had been shot by White. White fled the scene prior to police arriving. Numerous attempts to locate White were made by Officers from the City of Jennings Detail to no avail. On May 22, 2014, the Commander of the Jennings Detail contacted a St. Louis County Detective assigned to the United States Marshalls Fugitive Task Force. The U.S. Marshalls Service was made aware of the circumstances surrounding the shooting and asked to help the St. Louis County Police in locating White. On May 28, 2014, the United States Marshalls Fugitive Task Force located White at a residence in the 300 block of Bluff Drive in St. Louis City where he was arrested without incident.

The St. Louis County Police City of Jennings Detail applied for the charges above that were ultimately issued on the same date.
