For Immediate Release

On Thursday, April 17, 2014, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges on Jabari Quarles, 23 years of age, of the 5200 block of Enright, St. Louis, MO 63108, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree, three counts of Robbery in the First Degree, six counts of Armed Criminal Action, and two counts of Felonious Restraint. Quarles is being held on a $250,000 cash only bond. A photo of Quarles is attached.

Charges were issued after officers from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Fenton Precinct responded to a robbery in progress at the Check’N Go store located at 676 Gravois Road. When officers arrived on scene, the two male suspects were exiting the store. Quarles was quickly taken into custody without incident. While attempting to arrest a second suspect, identified as Claudell Webb Jr., 23 years of age, of the 200 block of Meadow Crest, St. Louis, MO 63135, a short struggle ensued between officers and suspect Webb Jr. During this struggle, Webb Jr., produced a handgun. Fearing for their lives and the safety of the public, one of the officers shot the suspect. Webb Jr. was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he died.

A photo of Webb Jr. is also attached.
