Another Suspect Arrested in Hillsdale Murder

On Tuesday, May 22, 2012, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued warrants on Shermell A. Crockett, 20 years of age, of the 2100 block of Rosebud, Hillsdale, Missouri, 63121, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Robbery in the First Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. Crockett is currently being held on a $500,000 cash only bond. A photo of Crockett is attached and can be viewed online.

On Saturday, May 19, 2012, at approximately 12:45 AM, St. Louis County Police responded to a call for a shooting on the 2100 block of Erick in the City of Hillsdale. St. Louis County Police discovered that a victim, later identified as Danill Maksimenko, DOB 6/24/1989, was shot in his car. Maksimenko was delivering pizza when confronted and shot. Crockett was arrested on Monday, May 21st by the Hillsdale Police Department. St. Louis County Police Detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons responded to conduct the investigation. Robbery appears to be the motive for the incident. Another suspect in the incident, Chester Woods, was charged with Murder in the Second Degree on Sunday, May 20th.

Danill Maksimenko was transported to a nearby hospital but died hours later due to being shot. St. Louis County Police Detectives took Chester Woods into custody on May 19, 2012. St. Louis County Police Detectives developed information and evidence that was presented to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and the above warrants were issued on Crockett and Woods. Two other individuals are being sought for questioning as the investigation continues.
