Charges Issued on Man After Hit and Run Death of Two Year Old

On Tuesday, June 18, 2013, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Charles Guice, 17 years of age, of the 1700 block of Nemnich in St. Louis, Missouri, 63136 with one count of Leaving the Scene of An Accident (Class D Felony). A $50,000 bond was set by the court. A photo of Guice is attached.

Officers from the St. Louis County Police Department's North County Precinct responded for a person struck in the 1500 block of Redman Road just after 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Officers found a two year old male child and a 17 year old female relative who had been struck and injured by a passing vehicle, described as a white SUV, which had left the scene. The two year old victim was transported to Christian Hospital Northeast where he succumbed to his injuries. The 17 year old female received minor injuries from the incident.

The white SUV was found in the 4400 block of Carter Avenue in St. Louis City on Monday, June 17, 2013. Guice turned himself in to police the next day after hearing that police were searching for him.
