The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 on Eric V. Rogers, 23 years of age, of the 3000 block of Willow Creek Estates, St. Louis, Missouri, 63131 for one count of First Degree Assault, one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and one count of Armed Criminal Action. A $100,000 cash bond has been set. A picture of Rogers is attached.
The charges were issued after officers from the St. Louis County Police Department North County Precinct responded to a call for shots fired at New Halls Ferry Road and Wedgewood Drive on Monday, March 18, 2013. It was reported that the suspect, Rogers, shot at a 32 year old victim with a handgun out of his driver’s side window while chasing the victim down New Halls Ferry Road. The shot shattered the rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle. The report indicated that both parties, known to each other, had been in a fight over a girl whom they both periodically dated.
Rogers was arrested by St. Louis County Police officers shortly thereafter near his residence after officers spotted him running through neighboring backyards in the subdivision. The handgun was found in his vehicle parked at his residence.
