Class 173 and instructors at Heroes for Heroes competition.

CMPA Recruit Class #173 volunteered to help out the Heroes for Heroes fundraiser to benefit Backstoppers, the organization that helps the families of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty. The event, hosted by CrossFit-TNT in St. Charles, consisted of a 5K run, weightlifting competition and CrossFit "Heroes" workout. The recruits manned the running course, lifted heavy things and generally helped make the event a success. Over 130 contestants participated in the event and over $3000 was raised for Backstoppers.

Three Academy instructors participated, Maryland Heights Officer Grant Crawley, St. Louis County Officer Sue Doherty, and St. Louis County Officer Colby Dolly. Officer Dolly competed in the weight-lifting and cross-fit competitions, as well as the 5K run. Officers Crawley and Dohertry competed in the 5K run.
