P.O. Gary Robertson Joins the Academy Staff

P.O. Gary Robertson of the St. Louis County Police Department has been assigned to the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy as a staff instructor, effective May 27, 2012. Officer Robertson is replacing St. Louis County P.O. James Morgan who returned to the Division of Patrol after instructing at the Academy for three years. Officer Robertson's biography is included following this notice.

Officer Robertson, who has previously taught classes for the Academy as a guest instructor, is assuming full teaching duties, including the First Responder and other blocks, and will also be teaching Continuing Education classes. He can be reached at or by telephone at (314) 889-8611.

Police Officer Gary Robertson was born and raised in north St Louis County. PO Robertson began his law enforcement career at the age of sixteen as a Law Enforcement Explorer with the Ferguson Police Department. In 1999 PO Robertson joined the US Air Force and attended the Air Forces Security Police career field. PO Robertson served as a patrolman, Emergency Services Team (EST) member, Customs Inspector and Shift Supervisor during his tenure.

In 2003, PO Robertson attended the Eastern Missouri Police Academy and started his civilian Law Enforcement career with the Creve Coeur Police Department. In 2005 PO Robertson joined the ranks of St Louis County Police where he worked in the North County Precinct, Central County Precinct, and the Planning and Analysis Unit prior to his current assigned as a Basic Training Instructor with the St Louis County and Municipal Police Academy. While assigned to the Division of Patrol PO Robertson has trained over fifteen new officers and became a Master Field Training Instructor teaching the FTO program at the CMPA.

PO Robertson has received numerous awards including several Awards of Excellence, five Chiefs Commendations including the Meritorious Service Citation.
