P.O. Craig Friemel Joins Academy Staff

Instructor Craig Friemel of the Chesterfield Police Department has joined the instructional staff of the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy effective June 4, 2012. He will be replacing Police Officer Josh King who is returning to Chesterfield after a little over a year on the Academy staff. A brief biography can be found after this announcement.

Officer King will be assisting with some classes until the end of the current class. Officer Friemel will be assuming full teaching duties with the next recruit class, including the Juvenile and Domestic Violence blocks, and will also be teaching Continuing Education classes. Biography:

Police Officer Craig Friemel graduated from high school the summer of 1995 and joined the United States Marine Corps. In the Marine Corp PO Friemel worked on UN-1N Huey and AH-1W Cobra Helicopters. PO Friemel exited the Marine Corp with an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Sergeant in 2001.

In 2004, PO Friemel attended the Eastern Missouri Police Academy and upon graduation began his civilian Law Enforcement Career with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. At the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department he was promoted to Corporal and served as an FTO and a member of the S.W.A.T. team. In 2008, PO Friemel joined the Chesterfield Police Department where he serves as FTO, CIT, and Patrol Rifle Officer.

P.O. Friemel has received numerous awards during his time in the Marine Corps and Law Enforcement. Most recently two Chief’s Commendations for life saving efforts in the City of Chesterfield.
