Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Program Now Taking Reservations!


HHW Permanent Facility Update

Residents can now make a reservation to drop off household hazardous waste (HHW) at the Lemay HHW Facility, located at 291 E. Hoffmeister (on the grounds of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Lemay Waste Water Treatment Plant). Reservations can be made by visiting www.hhwstl.com and following the instructions.


The permanent program replaces the spring and fall one-day collection events previously held by the Health Department. No one-day events are scheduled.

NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK DAY – APRIL 27

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in conjunction with local law enforcement partners is hosting another National Drug Prescription Take Back Day. This initiative seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft by collecting potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction at sites nationwide on Saturday, April 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Additional information and collection sites are posted at:
