County Executive Renews Call to Council to Approve Fraud Assessment Contract


View letter correspondence between St. Louis County, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office regarding the investigation and release of information. County Executive Charlie A. Dooley has said that he will continue to push for funding of a fraud risk assessment by an independent accounting firm in the wake of an embezzlement scheme  in the health department. Both the FBI and the St. Louis County police have been investigating the financial transactions related to the incident.

The order includes the original language contained in legislative bills #109, #110, and #111 introduced by 1st District County Councilman Hazel Erby. The Order also officially establishes the Office of Diversity Programs referred to in Erby’s original bill #109 and sets out the duties and responsibilities of the Diversity Programs Administrator.

County Executive Dooley Asks Council for $250k to Curb Sex Trafficking in St. Louis.

The County Executive has been meeting with Police Chief Jon Belmar and members of the human trafficking unit along with advocates including the YWCA, Crisis Aid International and the International Institute to better understand the magnitude of the problem in St. Louis County. The County Executive issued a directive to the Chief to submit a plan for addressing the additional resources the police department needs to address the issue.

The application process is rigorous but if accepted, Code for America would help St. Louis County develop innovative methods of compiling and disseminating data.

St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley and St. Louis City Mayor Francis Slay have submitted a City-County application for Code for America. This is a tremendous step in changing the landscape of access to government data in the region.
