First travel-related Chikungunya case reported in St. Louis County, was not contracted locally


The Saint Louis County Department of Health is reporting its first case a local person identified as having Chikungunya virus(pronounced: \chik-en-gun-ye click to hear pronunciationExternal Web Site Icon). This is a virus mosquitoes spread. The patient did not contract the disease locally, but while travelling in the Caribbean.

Express Scripts unveils $56 million expansion in St. Louis County


A University of Missouri-St. Louis economic impact study reports Express Scripts has generated $3.8 billion in direct economic impact in Missouri from 2006 to 2013. It also reports the company, which employs about 4,500 people had a local payroll of $579 million. As well, between the company and its employees, $39 million in state and local taxes were paid in 2013.
