St. Louis County received the 2014 award for “Outstanding Plan Making.”
The American Planning Association’s St. Louis Metropolitan Section named the County's plan, entitled "Imagining Tomorrow for St. Louis County" for representing significant advancement of planning and bringing a greater awareness of the benefits of good planning to the region.
There are several award categories. Being named for “Outstanding Plan Making” means St. Louis County's strategic plan encompasses several things including: quality, comprehensiveness, education and most importantly community acceptance and support. The awarding committee is made up of six members from the organizations St. Louis Metro Section, who review all nominations and make the final decision on award recipients.
Lori Fiegel, comprehensive planning manager with the St. Louis County Department of Planning, accepted the award on behalf of St. Louis County on March 11.
Imagining Tomorrow is St. Louis County’s five-year strategic plan, which focuses on improving communities, economic opportunities, and quality of life for residents.
